Lo-fi Surreal Escape RPG

You awake from the most peaceful slumber in a room. Cold and clinical. It reminds you of somewhere, but you can't quite place the memory. Familiar, yet distant. A tinge of sorrow fills you as you try to recall, but cannot.

There are others here with you. None can recall how they arrived, but all feel a vague longing. The only way out is a single flight of stairs, rising through the ceiling for a distance you cannot discern. What awaits you on the next floor?

Only one thing to do. ASCEND.

Based on the 24XX rules by Jason Tocci. 4321: ASCEND is a 5-page surrealist escape RPG. The players find themselves trapped in a purgatory of endlessly ascending floors, where they must surpass traps, fight or evade dangerous creatures, free bystanders, and make it to the next floor. They may eventually escape. They may die in the attempt. Or are they already dead?
